Fact

A keyword search for “Emergency landing,”  “Plane” & “ 2023” on Facebook led us to a post, dated January 21, 2023, by @helloiamlianna168, a gaming video creator.  The post mentioned that the user was playing Grand Theft Auto V

Carrying the viral video of the aircraft, the post stated, “Pilot Makes Emergency Landing After Two Engines Exploded.”

Following this, we looked up keywords “ Emergency landing,”  “engines exploded ,” & “GTA 5” on YouTube and found a video uploaded by BBB-Gaming on September 18, 2021.

It carried the viral video of the aircraft crash with the disclaimer that it shows a slight simulation. The description of the video read, “This is only in the flight simulation. This situation is not real! Everything in this video doesn’t happen in real life, because this situation is just a challenge for me to try in the flight simulation.”

The about section of the channel read, “ In this channel, I mostly upload video games entertainment and funny moments compilations for everyone to enjoy. Please understand that everything in my videos doesn’t happen in real life, because it’s just the game. I am just playing game or flight simulator and then record them to share with you guys for entertainment purposes. (sic)”

The clip was also shared on Facebook by gaming video creator i9gamers on August 26, 2022. It’s caption read, “Pilot Makes Emergency Landing After Two Engines Exploded – GTA 5 GTA5 simulation game #gtamods”

Hence, the viral post claiming to show a Nepal plane making an emergency landing in an Indian Airport is false. The video is actually a flight simulation, and not an actual incident.
