What is the best thing you enjoy about treating patients?
I feel very happy when I see my patients happy once they recover.
When is a patient easy to treat?
The ideal patient is someone who has some background information about the disease, is eager to learn from experts and follows advice from the specialists.
When is a patient difficult to treat?
I find those patients difficult who have very little interest in their disease, have limited information about their condition and are not happy to follow the plans as directed by their physicians. They go on changing doctors with little or no change in their physical condition.
How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?
It is very helpful. Background information is very useful for patients. It gets easy to build a more detailed understanding of the condition and the treatment procedure.
How can a patient improve their knowledge about the treatment procedure?
Patients can read about their condition from reliable and accredited sources on internet and otherwise.
How medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?
It is a very big problem. Medical and health misinformation can be misleading and result in very serious and harmful outcomes for the patients.
A few advice that you always give to your patients…
I always advice my patients to refer and read about medical information from accredited sources only.
