We started our investigation by conducting a reverse search of the key-frames of the video on Google and found the same video uploaded on a Facebook page called ‘Veterinarian’ on 29th November, 2020 along with the title ‘Abscess drainage in Holstein cow’.

The video was posted along with the caption ‘An abscess is an accumulation of pus, internal or external, in organic tissue.’

Upon conducting a keyword search with the words “abscess removal from cattle’, we found a research paper by Biogeneric Science and Research Journal published on 26th June, 2020 along with the title ‘Management of Superficial Skin Abscess in Cattle – A Case Report’.

An abscess is an accumulation of pus that hollows out a cavity in the tissues by destroying and expanding them and surrounded by fibrous tissue, the paper stated.

One of the fundamental aspects of managing an abscess was ventral incision, according to  the research paper. The research found that one of the most common techniques for draining abscesses from cattle was a sharp scalpel blade or hoof knife incision at the abscess-infected site.

Thus it is clear that the video shows a process of abscess removal from the infected cow, and not a process to drain the last bit of milk from the cow.

Result– False
