3-Year-Old Video Shared Claiming To Show Live Train Accident – Newschecker

A Google reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video led us to multiple news reports from November 2019, elaborating on an accident that took place at Kacheguda railway station in Telangana.

One such report by Times of India, dated November 11, 2019, titled ‘Hyderabad: Collision between MMTS and passenger train caught on CCTV camera,’ featured the same visuals of collision on two trains as seen in the viral video. The report further states, “Two trains collided at Kacheguda station in Telangana. Several people were injured in the incident. According to sources, five MMTS coaches got derailed in the accident while its loco pilot is still trapped in a mangled coach. The injured passengers have been rushed to Osmania General Hospital.”

The viral footage was also uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Outlook Magazine on November 12, 2019, titled ‘Moment When Two Trains Collided At Hyderabad’s Kacheguda Railway Station.’

Multiple news outlets had reported on the collision of two trains at  Kacheguda Railway Station in November 2019. Such reports can be seen here, here and here.

We could thus conclude that the viral footage of two trains colliding shows an accident at Kacheguda station in November 2019, and not any recent incident. The video is being shared out of context.
